OKOMI is a chimpanzee cartoon character for very young children, produced by The Children's Project in association with The Jane Goodall Institute. Jane and the Institute have spent 40 years studying chimpanzees. The Okomi stories are based on Jane's observations of chimpanzee behaviour in the wild.

Presented as pure fiction, these delightful and useful books subtly cover many issues like fear, illness, eating, surprise, fun, laughter and new experiences, with his mother, Mama Du. Future series will introduce other themes and issues that relate directly to small children, such as sibling rivalry, tantrums and relationships, as well as more characters.
